so this weekend i took my first FULL stab at being a florist. i have always thought it is exactly what i should do, and i make floral arrangements all the time. i love creating centerpieces and a lot of the same principles apply for making wedding flowers. my lovely friend crystal gave me a shot and this past weekend i was put to the test.
i am surprised is even survived. from the moment i picked up the flowers at 5pm on Friday i thought i would have a heart attack. what florist doesn’t understand the concept of bright pink? I said like shocking pink ribbon of which florists everywhere have a spool but what i got hardly looked pink at all. I WAS FREAKING OUT.
after failed attempts to get a hold of replacements i proceeded to trash out my kitchen and created the entire floral arrangements for crystal’s wedding.
as you can see from all these (somewhat blurry pictures) these beautiful flowers photograph in a variety of shades of pink. in some light they look red. that is why i freaked out. of course when i got them to church and held them against the dresses they were wonderful. i know that no amount of invitations has ever stressed me out so much. i always thought i'd love to do it but now i am not as confident. i do think they were lovely and i hope the beautiful bride did too!
